I called once before and spoke with pastor about using the church for my wedding ceremony on July 12, 2008. He assured me the date was open but he was going to be out on sabbatical leave for the summer. He said that he would allow us to use our own pastor. He mailed me information about non-member fees and asked that I call to move forward. Well, My fiance and I wanted to see the inside of the church. We went to the church and and the pastor showed us the sanctuary and rooms that our bridal party would be using to change in. He also mentioned that his daughter was going to have her wedding ceremony there in May 2008. He said he would call us back in a week after he have a meeting with the church board. After two weeks had gone by, we didn't hear from him. Our wedding coordinator called him and then he informed her that he would not be able to let us have the church. He said that the church was fairly new and was new to weddings. Our wedding coordinator then asked if he could work out the kinks by July since his daughter was getting married in May. He proceeded to make excuses why we couldn't use the church. The coordinator informed him that he has mailed us information in writing that everything was fine. He then told her to forget what the letter states, he just couldnt allow us to use the church. My fiance and I are African-American. I could only conclude that he didn't want us in his church due to the color of our skin. Before meeting with us everything was great. After, then he couldn't do it. You decide!!!!
