Compton Heights Christian Church (DOC) is a congregation seeking true community, deep spirituality, and a passion for justice. We are an Open and Affirming congregation and a Pro-Reconciation/Anti-Racism congregation. We celebrate communion weekly, welcoming all to Christ's table. We are deeply committed to the unity of the Church and the unity of God's people across faiths. We welcome all with a developing Peace Garden where neighbors and passers by are welcome to sit and rest. We greet the community every Friday Morning on South Grand with "Happy Friday" and free coffee and cocoa. We share our faith that in Jesus the Christ, the love, compassion, and peace of God are revealed and are saving for all the world. All are invited to worship with us at 10:45 AM on Sundays, to join in Church School, Reading Circle (registered at Left Bank Books), Prayer Shawl Knitting Ministry, SOUL CARE, Community outreach through Isaiah 58 Ministries -- food pantry, thrift shop, health ministries, employment program, etc.
We are liberal and progressive in faith; devoted to study and active discussion of topics of faith and spirituality.
